I love simple tools that do one thing and do it well.
I love it better when they're Web-based (no need to download anything).
I love them even more when they're FREE!
Today I found an online tool that fits all these criteria - It's a simple, yet versatile tool for creating striped backgrounds for Web sites, giving them that cool Web 2.0 look.
I hope you find it useful too!

Amazing Scrapbooking Tool Online

I sincerely believe that your Web browser is becoming the central point where you'll get things done on your computer.
Today, I found a video to a soon-to-be-released tool that demonstrates what I mean.
It's a video for the next version of Scrapblog.com, which allows you to create online scrapbooks that include text, images, audio, and video.
The idea itself is great, but when viewing the video, remember that this is a Web tool, and everything you see being done is accomplished within a Web browser (nothing to install).
It's simply amazing.
Are we even going to need installed software in a few years? We'll see...

Forums + Audio = Chinswing.com - Great Idea!

Here's the idea - and it's an awesome one.

- Think of a topic you want to discuss
- Go to http://www.chinswing.com/
- Login and press the Record button and record audio (your initial thoughts/questions about the topic)
- The next guy (or gal) comes along, listens to your recording, has something to share themselves, they hit Record and record their thoughts
- And so on, and so on, until you have a live, interactive conversation about the original topic
The service touts itself as an audio conversation builder.
You can listen to conversations via a timeline interface, and even subscribe to an RSS feed of a conversation so you'll know when someone else has added their 2 cents.

Watch this technology. I sincerely think you're going to see it all over the place very shortly.
It's a social Web, and this just raised the stakes. Brilliant!
