What do you want to do better in your life?

If you're like me, there're probably quite a few things that come to mind. :)

After all, part of living a fulfilling life is expanding our knowledge, and improving our skills, right?

Well, I'm here to tell you that no matter what you want to do better in your life that it's very likely that there's a site, article, news story, or even video to help you do it - probably lots of them!

That's the great thing about the Web. People a constantly creating quality how-to content about virtually anything you can imagine.

With video, it's become even better!

This is information you *used* to have to pay for in the form of books, DVDs, etc.

Now it's online - yours for the taking - *if* you know where, and how to, find it.

In the tradition of creating quality tools to help people discover great content online, I recently made it my mission to develop a new tool built specifically for helping you find all this great how-to content online.

I call it the How-To Seeker.

I crammed virtually everything I know about finding how-to's and tutorial-type content into this new tool, but I didn't lose sight of the fact that it needed to be simple and fun to use.

I really think I nailed it! :)

Take a look for yourself - I've put together a short video showing it in action:

http://www.howtoseeker.com

If you get a chance, I'd love to hear your feedback about this type of 'niche-specific' search tool.

Also, in case you're interested, this new tool is included within my TopicSeekers.com membership site:

New TopicSeekers Videos - See What You Can Do

Permenant Link To: New TopicSeekers Videos - See What You Can Do

Quick post today.

I've just uploaded a bunch of new videos about TopicSeekers.com that go further into demonstrating what this incredible tool can do for you. Look for a link below.

Before heading off to view the videos, I couple other things I wanted to bring to your attention:
  • Due to upgrading my server, and the time it took to get everything in order, the launch date for TopicSeekers.com has been moved a week to March 6th at 12:00 PM EST.
  • Along these lines, the additional week gives you time to sign up to the early notification list. Why is this important? Well, only 500 people are initially being given access - those on this list will be given first chance. Second, I'm giving free lifetime access away to 10 people on this list - you could be one of them, so be sure to sign up!
That's it for now.

Here's the link to view the new videos:

whonu.com Version 3 Is Here - See It In Action

Permenant Link To: whonu.com Version 3 Is Here - See It In Action

I'm happy to announce that a brand new version of whonu.com is now live, and it absolutely ROCKS, if I do say so myself. :)

I'll show you some sample searches in a second, but first I wanted to talk a bit about the need for an upgrade.

With the new version, I set out to:
  • Make it easier to use (I removed a lot of 'fluff')
  • Make it load faster (it's 3 times faster now)
  • Make the search results page a LOT more useful
I've achieved all 3 better than I could have dreamed.

I'm especially excited about the new search results page, which on top of a number of useful enhancements includes videos related to your query (which you can view right on the page), and related eBay auctions (at the bottom of the page).

Altogether, I think you'll find whonu's search results page one of the most useful around.

But don't take my word for it, try it yourself. Here are some sample general searches:

disney world
scrapbooking
wedding

When you fall in love with the new whonu.com, you'll want to grab the updated Google Toolbar button so you can easily initiate a whonu search right from the Google Toolbar.

Also, I'd love to hear your feedback on the upgrade as well.

Have fun!

I'm Taking The Wraps Off My Current Project...

Permenant Link To: I'm Taking The Wraps Off My Current Project...

I just wanted to let you know that I'm finally ready to share with the world a project I've been working on for a while - something I'm really, really excited about.

It's called TopicSeekerLive.

It's something still in its infancy, so there's still a long way to go, but I'm ready to get people using it.
  • Visit the homepage
  • Select a topic by clicking it
  • On the page that appears, begin exploring the topic in a way you've never seen before
Of course, the site makes use of Search Automator technology, which I've been refining over the past several months.

I have plans to build this site to include 500+ topics. There are just a handful there now, but bookmark it, because it will continue to grow.

If you like the site, be sure to visit the feedback page and share your feedback.

Search Google Like Never Before Using The Qore

Permenant Link To: Search Google Like Never Before Using The Qore

Other than this special blog post, I haven't announced this to the world-at-large.

Not yet!

If you like Google, you'll love The Qore (pronounced like 'core'). It puts all the power of Google (and then some) in your hands using a dynamic, interactive interface.

Be sure to review the short help section to get the most from it.

Now GO! :)

Ask.com and Snap.com Let You Search In More Powerful Ways

Permenant Link To: Ask.com and Snap.com Let You Search In More Powerful Ways

Here are a couple of new/updated search tools, both of which I think are outstanding!

First, Snap.com has added an image search engine to their site. Unlike most image search engines that simply provide thumbnails of image results, Snap has turned the whole thing into an experience - kind of like an interactive slideshow.

Check out this search for sanibel island.

Not only is the results page clean and well organized, but it's interactive. You can navigate the results using the arrow keys on your keyboard. Very well done!

On another search front, Ask.com has silently launched an overall update to their various search tools, and I've got to say, they have created an interface that looks and works better than almost any other search interface out there.

If you want to give it a spin for yourself, check out the X, AskX.com (cool way for Ask to launch this).

Besides Google, Ask is quickly becoming my 2nd favorite search engine. These guys are really putting some amazing functionality into it. Be sure to try it yourself.

Google Launches New Patent Search Engine

Permenant Link To: Google Launches New Patent Search Engine

Some may find this extremely useful, while others may simply find it interesting.

Google has just launched a U.S. patent search engine. It includes full-text search as well as each patent's supporting images.

If you're inventor, you'll love it.

If you're just wanting to waste a bit time, check out the patent for the toy skunk (some people have waaaaaaay too much time on their hands).
