Here's How To Get More Done!

What am I doing with my 24 hours?
In other words, every day, what do you have to show for burning through another 24 hours of your life?
If the answer is, 'next to nothing', or 'not nearly as much as I would like', then I'm happy to tell you that you can change that right now, and in moment, in this email, I'm going to give you a
simple system for doing it.
It's a system I stumbled across not too long ago that I recently put to the test, and used to take an idea I had, to a complete, ready-to-install software product in just 5 days!
Talk about getting more done! :)
If you're ready to put more life and more action into your day, then get a pen and paper and write down this simple system.
It consists of 3 basic steps. Here they are:
- Write down all the tasks you want to get done today
- Assign a specific block of time for completing each task (like 30 minutes)
- Select a task, start a timer, and focus on nothing else until that task is complete!
That's all there is to it.
Simple, yes! Incredibly effective, YES!

Hey Derek,
I snagged this and feel it is just what I had been needing for quite a while.
Then I watched your video on the upcoming 2.0 release - very cool stuff!
I would like to add my input to the list of feature ideas, if you don't mind.
In addition to the excellent additional features you've built into version 2, I would love to have the following:
1. The ability to pause the timers, like when interruptions occur.
2. The ability to see and log the time savings or excesses for each action. So, say you had four actions for the day and at the end of the day one was completed before the timer went off and three were completed after the timer went off. It would be nice to graph out over time the progress (or lack thereof) in efficiency I am making - both for individual "like-tasks" as well as the day as a whole.
Like-task example: I set aside 60 minutes per day for email, but want to reduce it to 45 minutes, knowing that will save me 7.5 hours a month. So, I set the timer for 60 minutes and see how closely to 45 minutes I can come. When I am consistently completing that task in 45 minutes or less, I adjust my daily timer to 45 minutes and see if I can reduce it even further. Over time, the graph/chart/spreadsheet shows how I'm progressing - in both individual like tasks as well as the day as a whole.
3. Provide for user-created time increments. I would prefer to be able to have 10-minute increments, as opposed to 15-minutes.
Ok, I think that's enough for now.
Hope this helps, thanks and keep up the excellent work,
Russ

Hey Derek, The Action Machine http://theactionmachine.com/ looks
cool and has many great features.
The critical one thing that I have right now that it misses and is holding me back from owning your program is the lack of a "compact" call timer in Xnote Stopwatch software. Like yours, it has a count down timer (and also has a stopwatch timer.) Xnote can be placed anywhere on your screen so it does not interfere with one's own unique desktop.
REASON WHY displaying the compact timer? To have constant feedback. It prevents me from discovering 30, 60 or 90 minutes were partially wasted because I was not pacing myself and driving ahead -using each portion of a time block efficiently.
