Who Thinks I Need A Personality?

I do!
I'm constantly reevaluating my blog/site and its appeal (this is my digital laboratory after all), and one thing I've determined is:
It needs a bit more personality.
One thing I've observed with some of the more successful blogs out there (and maybe you've seen this as well) is that those run by individuals tend to do more than just present facts and news. They also reflect the blogger's personality, likes, dislikes, viewpoints, realizations and life lessons.
While I think I provide content that is useful, I just don't think my complete personality comes through in the overall presentation of the site. It all seems very matter-of-fact and to-the-point. I can do much better.
Anybody who knows me, knows that I'm much more than your everyday run-of-the-mill geek. Without sounding too boastful, I feel confident in saying that I'm creative, fun, weird, adventurous, and into tinkering with new ideas and learning new things. This doesn't come through enough in my blog. That's going to change.
When you visit my site, I want it to feel more like a you're visiting a friend's house as opposed to visiting a tech-resource. Although providing you with useful tech content is will continue to be the main focus on this site, I intend to make it a bit more personable in presentation.
I have to admit, to some degree, I've held back a bit from letting my true-self shine through out of fear that some visitors will think I'm 'not professional enough'. But I figure that if you can't occasionally let your hair down, loosen your tie, or whatever you do to feel comfortable and free, then what's the point. I'm not a prude, and I hope you're not either.
Some of the things I intend to incorporate here to help me become more than a techno stick-figure include:
- More audio
- An occasional sprinkling of images
- A personal story
- My take on things happening online
- My take on trends
- A few surprises
- Dumping the publishing schedule I implemented several weeks ago. It was an experiment that didn't work for me or you. Not only that, but it made the sharing of ideas with you too restrictive.
Of course, you're not going to see me regularly talking about personal things like my poor little doggie's recent trip to the vet, although it was pitiful. I mean, c'mon, who couldn't feel sorry for something that looks this cute?:

(Yes, those are bows in her ears, and yes, they bug the heck out of her. I refer you to my wife...)
For those kinds of things, I'm considering a personal blog. It might be fun and interesting.
I hope you're on-board with me on this, and as always, I'm open to your feedback and comments.
Let's have some fun!
