Is It Age Or Information Overload?
Permenant Link To: Is It Age Or Information Overload?
I don't know about you, but these days, I'm finding it hard to keep track of things I need to do. At 38, I don't know if I should blame age, or the Web (for continually filling my head with more information, new ideas, and new products) as the reason that keeping track of everyday things becomes a major task!
Note: Unfortunately, information overload cannot take the rap for what appears to be my ever-expanding mid-section.
There are emails to write, Web sites to visit, appointments to keep, goals to review, bills to pay, and so many other things that need to be regularly done in a timely manner.
I used to leave my schedule to chance (not a good idea) until I found a simple program called Remind!.
Remind! lets you:
- Show notifications
- Launch applications
- Shutdown Windows
- Check your mailbox
- Send mail messages
- Open Web pages
- Synchronize your system time at an appointed time and date
All at intervals you choose.
Think of it as a computer-based assistant for your computer-related activities.
I use it all the time. As a matter of fact, If it hadn't reminded me, I may have forgotten to write this post to let you know about it!
Talk about irony!
