Carrara 3 - For All you 3D Fanatics Out There

With the continuing successes of animated movies such as Finding Nemo and Terminator, it's obvious that 3D modeling and animation is hot!

I never imagined, back in the old days of Flash (1997), when blinking circles were considered animational masterpieces, that 3D would find its way into to Flash at all, let alone to the extent it has. Flash developers are using it in amazingly creative ways.

I'm a big believer that creativity (in this case, 3D creativity) is spurred on by tools that make being creative as simple and fun as possible. If you're a current, or aspiring 3D fanatic, and you want a fun and simple to use (relatively speaking, of course) 3D modeling and animation tool, then be sure to check out the recently announced Carrara 3 Studio by Eovia.

I have version 2 of this program, and I have to tell you, it has one of the most intuitive and fun interfaces I've ever used. You tend to forget you're actually working on a computer. I love it!

Version 3 offers some pretty incredible new features and improvements. Since I'm a visual person, two of my favorites are the new rendering capabilities (some of the most realistic 3D stuff I've seen) and the non-photorealistic rendering (which allows your 3D scene render to a chalk drawing, watercolor painting, and more). Did I mention that the images this thing creates are amazing?!

Oh, and since most of us are Flash users, I should also mention that Carrara Studio 3 has the ability to export to SWF. Yeah, that's a pretty nice feature. ;)

As far as 3D programs go, this one is also reasonably priced at $399.00 (upgrade for $149.00). With most 3D programs, you'll pay that much just for the box, and don't think I'm kidding!

As always, I let Eovia's site fill you in on the details if you're interested in more information.

I highly recommend this product!
