Flashy Hairstyles
Permenant Link To: Flashy Hairstyles
Lately, my wife has been diplomatically mentioning to me about how my hairstyle is out-of-date. She says that it very 1980's (which is probably true, since that's when I started wearing it this way). She think I would look better with a more modern cut. You know the kind, short on the sides and back, but kinda messy on the top.
Since my wife takes pride in being beautiful, I thought the least I could do was investigate the possibility.
Of course, my thirst for possibilities took me to where it usually does, Google. Once there, I typed in 'Men's Haristyles'. How many of you men out there have ever done this? Am I the first man to admit it? :)
In any case, the results included a link to a site called thehairstyler.com, which offers an interactive system for choosing your new style. The geek in me was intrigued, so off I went.
What I found was a site that offered a subscription-based service ($13.95 every 6 months) that allowed you to have full access to their Flash-based hairstyling application. This application allows you to upload an image of yourself, then, through the magic of PNG images, will place a variety of styles on your hair, allowing you to see the affect of choosing a new style, all without altering a single hair on your hair. I'll admit, the face they use in the demo looks a bit computer generated (either that, or strung out), but the idea is still effective.
Let's see, $13.95 every 6 months x how many people in this world who are interested in changing their hairstyles = success? I can't say for sure, but it seems likely. And it all revolves around a Flash product/application.
Any ideas you could implement this way?
